Take steps to support rewilding

Rewilding supporters can raise money for SCOTLAND: The Big Picture at this year’s Edinburgh Kiltwalk, and all funds raised will be boosted by 50% by the Hunter Foundation.

The Edinburgh Kiltwalk 2022 takes place on Sunday 18 September, returning as a mass participation event for the first time since 2019. There are three routes: the 24-mile Mighty Stride, the 14.6-mile Big Stroll and the Wee Wander, which is around four miles.

The Hunter Foundation, which has supported the Kiltwalk since 2016, will add 50% to all money raised by participants. So if a walker raises £100 in sponsorship, their nominated charity will receive £150.

"Dust off your tartan, have some fun and raise money to support rewilding in Scotland!"

The funding model of the event ensures that all the sponsorship money raised, plus the 50% top-up, goes directly to the nominated charity, with administration costs covered by entry fees and Gift Aid.

In 2021, when the event was "virtual" because of Covid-19, walkers raised more than £8,000 for SCOTLAND: The Big Picture.

Emma Razi, Head of Fundraising at SCOTLAND: The Big Picture, says: “Dust off your tartan, have some fun and raise money to support rewilding in Scotland!

"There is something for everyone, and thanks to the generosity of Sir Tom Hunter, everything you raise will be topped up by an incredible 50%.”

To support rewilding in Scotland, register for the walk distance of your choice and type SCOTLAND: The Big Picture when selecting the charity to support.
