Welcome to Ballintean Mountain Lodge!
Set in a private, elevated position, our Rewilding Learning Hub is a beautifully converted farm steading, perfectly located for exploring the wild landscapes of the Cairngorms National Park.
Ballintean is part of the Northwoods Rewilding Network, with its 120-acre grounds committed to nature recovery for the last 25 years. Ospreys nest nearby, red squirrels forage and badgers are nightly visitors. Vast ancient forests, hidden lochs and snow-capped mountains provide a breath-taking backdrop for an inspiring learning journey.
The lodge itself has a rustic, contemporary feel. All rooms have private facilities, a light and airy two-tier lounge provides a relaxing environment for learning, whilst the dining room is full of rural charm and character. The lodge has Wi-Fi throughout although due to its remoteness, internet speeds can be slower than you might be used to. Mobile phone reception is generally good.
Breakfast and evening meals are usually taken within the lodge and prepared by our own catering team. We offer home-cooked, wholesome food prepared with fresh, local ingredients. In the field, we take a picnic lunch and home-bakes, and often squeeze in a coffee and cake stop along the way!
We can almost always accommodate specific dietary requirements – just tell us when booking and we’ll make sure to satisfy your needs.
